July News

2013.06.16
Happy Fourth of July from all of us at HGF!
[nbsp]
This past month we've enjoyed recent visits from several of our friends and new owners, Suzanne O'Brien, Maureen Sharp, Isabelle Ferriera and family, Valerie Lazzaro--and we are looking forward to more friends coming by in the next few weeks.[nbsp]
[nbsp]
Our Lendon Gray clinic last month was extremely helpful. She will be back on the 16-17 July.
[nbsp]
Congratulations to the Pritchett family of Ann Arbor on their purchase of Isis HGF--a gorgeous, tall 2008 mare by Idilio out of Seductora.
[nbsp]
We are waiting for one last mare to foal.. and then our Mare Barn staff can get some sleep! We are proud to report that we have 4 colts so far this year--2 by Cosaco and 2 by Bolero. We are expecting a beatutiful bay filly anytime by Camaron, out of Quintera. Or maybe another surprise Chestnut...like her brother Sultan (Bolero x Sevillana).
[nbsp]
Traverse City!! [nbsp]We are packing now and will head up North on Wednesday for our favorite show--Dressage by the Bay at Traverse City. We are taking six horses, and will be competing in Second, Third and PSG, as well as the Breed classes on Sunday. We hope to see our Midwest and Michigan friends there! Its a terrific show, super horses and riders, staffed and run by the best in the business, on stunningly beautiful show grounds, with great vendors and food, perfect Michigan weather, the bay next door...it just doesn't get any better than this! Dressage by the Bay also will be hosting the Region 2 Championships in September.

AUCTION UPDATE: We have been busy the past six weeks, photographing, videoing, and x-raying our young horses and are almost ready to make the final selection for the Top Ten Sale, to be held on August 21. We are very pleased with the list of young horses that is forming. There will be several fine representatives of each of our top breeding stallions, including twoGrandiosos, several Boleros and a number of Cosacos out of Idilio dams--offerings of both colts and fillies, bays and grays. Stay tuned for the[nbsp]new HGF Auction sIte , which should be ready to go by the end of this week. It will feature photos, bloodlines and videos of the young horses, as well as information about the sires. The new site will be accessible via this page.
[nbsp]
As we get closer to the date of the sale, the site will be set up to take on-line live bids, as well as absentee bids. For those who choose to attend the sale, there will be two days for viewing and vetting the young stock, which will be presented by Master handler Tom Reed. [nbsp]

Finally, we are happy to report that no less than 3 PREs were in the top 6 , out of 35, at the Pompadour CDI Grand Prix (France) this past weekend (also one Lusitano), which was won by Claudio Castilla Ruiz on 11 year old Jade de MV with a score of 68.213. [nbsp]The Spanish Team is coming to WEG very strong this year, with 3 seasoned horses scoring consistently in the 70s and a rising group of younger horses scoring close to that. For the future, let's fill the US CDIs with PRE horses!
