HGF & Kerrigan part ways after 15 years
Kerrigan Gluch is leaving Hampton Green Farm in Ocala, Florida after 15 years competing the stable’s P.R.E. horses. Kerrigan, aged 29 and originally from Michigan, has competed HGF horses on both sides of the Atlantic. Kimberly van Kampen, the owner of the stable, said Saturday: “Kerrigan is a wonderful person who has been a part of Hampton Green Farm for 15 years. She has treated my horses like they were her own, and she has always been a most trusted friend and accomplished rider. “We support her in any decision she makes for this next chapter in life and look forward to her successes. It’s been a real joy to have been her sponsor all these years.” Kerrigan became the first American to be selected on a pure Spanish horse, Mejorano, for an official USA team for Europe that paid off with a personal best score in the CDIO4* Nations Cup of the Netherlands Grand Prix Freestyle in 2024. She told DRESSAGE-NEWS.com: “The past 15 years with HGF have been truly special. I’ve had the opportunity to grow through the levels, developing not only as a rider but as a professional, while working with some incredible horses and people who have shaped me along the way. I am especially grateful for the unique experiences and travels this journey has given me. I will always value these opportunities. “I am deeply thankful for all the support Kim has given me and will always recognize the significant role she has played in my career. “As I look ahead, I’m excited to take some time to be with family and explore new opportunities. I strongly believe that everything happens for a reason, and I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next.” Hampton Green hired Jose Daniel Martin Dockx of Spain as the in-house trainer, and he moved to Ocala. The rider competed Hampton Green’s Grandioso, the sire of Mejorano, at the 2012 London and 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics as well as the 2014 World Equestrian Games and the 2013 and 2015 European Championships. Ten Years of Grandioso’s Legacy
Following the social media tren, this year marks a decade of the Grandioso era (2016–2026). In 2016, Grandioso III and José Daniel Martín Dockx competed at the CDIO5* Aachen and later represented Spain at the Olympic Games in Rio. Today, the story continues at Hampton Green Farm, where a new generation of riders; including Kerrigan Gluch and Antonio Crespin; are developing the stallion’s offspring, carrying his influence into the future of the breed such as Ferro HGF, Santiago HFG One of the most importants offsprings of Grandioso has been Mejorano HGF. This horse was trained by José Daniel Martin Dockx from 6 years old up to GP (2019) . Mejorano HGF represented Spain at the World Championships of Young horses in 2018 at the 7 years old class. In 2019, Kerrigan Took the reins of the horses and started her GP campaign in 2020. Fast Forward, in 2023, Kerrigan represented United States with our US-home bred PRE horse Mejorano HGF at the CDIO5* Nations Cup in Rotterdam. On the freestyle she scored: 75.350 ending up at 7th place.
Santiago HGF Trains with Steffen Peters
We had the best kick-off of the season. Santiago HGF (Grandioso III x Joyero XXIV), ridden by Kerrigan Gluch, participated in a clinic with six-time U.S. Olympic rider Steffen Peters in Ocala. During the session, Peters shared his impressions and feedback on the young stallion, praising the quality and potential of this promising U.S.-bred PRE from the Hampton Green Farm “We had a wonderful time working with Kerrigan today and was really impressed with your with your boy; hat was fun. The first thing that comes to my mind is the temperament of the horse, you know just for a 5 year old to come to a new location and then just so settled and so willing to work with us it was just one of those lessons where you say you know what this is this is really fun. In general the impression of the horse is so important and the mouth was so quiet he does have a beautiful canter which is not always the case for this breed, he does have a good lengthening in trot, so it clearly would give me the impression that this is going to be a very special horse and potentially an international Horse.
HGF Horses Shine at the North American Youth Championships 2025
Hampton Green Farm proudly celebrated the success of its U.S.-bred PRE horses at the 2025 Discover Dressage / FEI North American Youth Dressage Championships, held at Flintfields Horse Park. NAYC is the prestigious event, one of the most important youth dressage competitions in North America. This year 2025, Sophia Shults riding Conocido HGF (2012 PRE gelding by Cosaco XI x Luz de Luna HGF), delivered an outstanding performance in the CDIU25 division, earning the individual silver medal. The pair also secured a podium finish in the Intermedia II, adding another achievement to their record ending in second position. Last but not least, Claire Barahona partnered with Morisco HGF (2013 gelding by Camarón IX x Mora HGF) claimed third place with a new personal best score of 71.096%. These results reflect Hampton Green Farm’s commitment to developing U.S.-bred PRE horses for modern dressage and our horses are perfect match for elite sport, and also for youth classes.

Justine Boyer successfully defends her title at the Florida Youth Dressage Championships at World Equestrian Center – Ocala
Ocala, FL – World Equestrian Center – Ocala (WEC) hosted the 2024 Florida Youth Dressage Championships and a pair of back-to-back rated shows Dressage I on March 14-15 and Dressage II on March 16-17. Sponsored by Hampton Green Farms and Discover Dressage, the events held classes from Training Level to FEI Grand Prix and served as official qualifying competitions for the 2024 Great American/USDF Regional Championships. The Florida Youth Dressage Championships, which was created in 2013, returned to WEC for the second year in a row. It is designed to be more than just a competition and offers participants — all aspiring young dressage riders — a rounded, enriching experience as well as the chance to show in a championship atmosphere. Events were held throughout the week to boost camaraderie and sportsmanship, including a meet-and-greet with U.S. Dressage Team rider Shelly Francis and former Florida Youth Dressage Championship rider Kerrigan Gluch. Justine Boyer and Campanero HGF won the junior division and were named overall champions at the Florida Youth Dressage Championships. Photo by Andrew Ryback Photography Junior rider Justine Boyer, 17, successfully defended her 2023 champion’s title, securing the 2024 sash with the same horse, Hampton Green Farms’ home-bred 11-year-old PRE gelding, Campanero HGF. Entrants competed in two straight tests (the team and individual tests), each comprising 40% of the final mark, and then a freestyle to music (20%). Boyer scored 69.167%, 68.75% and then 71.762% in the freestyle for a final mark of 69.519%. The overall reserve champion accolade went to the Young Rider Franki Kesner. She rode her own 11-year-old Glock’s Johnson gelding Il Divo to 66.397%, 67.794% and 70.313% to finish on 67.739%. With strong scores and a victory in the young rider division, Franki Kesner and Il Divo were the reserve overall champions. Photo by Andrew Ryback Photography “It’s quite the honor to be the champion again,” said Boyer, whose mother Kim Van Kampen owns Hampton Green Farms. “It’s been a long journey with this horse. I’ve been riding him since he was seven, going through the different trials of showing together, and he was very spooky in the beginning. I’ve grown up with him leading the way but this show in particular was a game-changer because I got to show him the way. “We’ve built a better trust, and we’re a team now. He’s not so hesitant toward my ideas and believes in me more. Getting to ride such a nice horse at a young age has been very practical for me,” continued Boyer, who trains with Hampton Green Farms’ head trainer, Maria Lithander. “This season we decided to work in the double bridle and ask more of the hindlegs than previously, and ride more forward in the movements,” added Boyer. “We play around with his social life as he’s pretty spooky, so we get him out in the paddock with other horses, and he goes out on the track — anything to expose him and to try to get him to focus on what he’s doing rather than where he is.” Boyer rode to a freestyle based on the movie “Moana,” put together by Marlene Whitaker, who also helped devise the floorplan. It included flying changes on a 20-meter circle in the middle of the arena and extended trots straight into shoulder-in, highlighting the horse’s adjustability. “I had never ridden a freestyle in other classes, and there isn’t one in Children, and I skipped ponies because I didn’t have one,” explained Boyer. “So this was my first inside look at what freestyles are all about, and Marlene was very helpful with finding Campanero’s strengths and weaknesses and complementing his talent. “My hopes for this show were to not surprise him or ask more than at other shows and keep him level-headed and happy,” added Boyer, who is based 10 minutes from WEC. “Riding him when I was 13 was the first glimpse into what a nice horse felt like. I’m very grateful that I get to ride such a magnificent horse.” In the Pony division, Texas-based Alexandra Garvey was another to defend her title, having also taken the accolade in 2023. She put in three solid performances (65%, 68.716% and 67.1%) to finish on a final score of 66.906%. She was riding Unscripted, who is 19 years old and was a Dressage4Kids donation. The under-25 rider Eva Farrell rode Yvonne Barteau’s 14-year-old Nadal De Susaeta, a PRE stallion by Cubanon. She logged results at Intermediate II, Grand Prix and Freestyle to top the division with a final score of 62.913%. In the rated shows, Adult Amateur (AA) Erin Walker rode seven tests on four different horses and won five of them. Her highest score of the weekend, 71.324%, was achieved on Craig McCallum’s 10-year-old Jeune Star Van Kairos, a KWPN gelding by Five Star, in the Intermediate I, where she finished second. The class was won by Bonnie Canter on a score of 72.353%. Canter rode her own eight-year-old 15.2hh Vilancio gelding Vitali, with whom she is the current Fourth Level AA US Dressage Finals champion. James Koford posted two wins at Grand Prix level, riding Christina Morin-Graham’s 12-year-old Charmeur gelding, Hatsije B, to 67.394% and 68.152%. They began in international grand prix together last year, and have already logged three CDI wins. Justine Boyer claims the Florida Youth Dressage Junior Title
World Equestrian Center – Ocala played host to back-to-back rated shows Dressage I (March 8-10) and Dressage II (March 11-12) as well as the 2023 Florida Youth Dressage Championships. Sponsored by Hampton Green Farm and Discover Dressage, the show held classes from Training Level to FEI Grand Prix and served as an official qualifying competition for the 2023 Great American/USDF Regional Championships. After a Covid-induced pause of two years, the Florida Youth Dressage Championships (FYDC) returned in 2023 with healthy entries. This was the first time that the Championships, created in 2013, were held at WEC – Ocala. The show is more than just a competition and gave the 20 participants — all aspiring young dressage riders — a rounded, enriching experience and the chance to show in a championship atmosphere. Events were held throughout the week to boost camaraderie and sportsmanship, including a meet-and-greet with Anna Marek and former Florida Youth Dressage Championship rider Kerrigan Gluch. Entrants in the Junior and Pony divisions competed in two straight tests (the team and individual tests), each one comprising 40% of the final mark, and then a freestyle to music (20%). For the Young Rider, Children and Under-25 divisions, it was a 50/50 weighting of two straight tests, with no freestyle. Galloping in a new category, Justine claimed for the second time in her career this title. With our home-bred 10-year-old Campanero HGF ( Camaron IX out of Quintera XII by Adelante), her scores were 70.455%, 69.485% and 68.013%. Justine not only won the junior title, but also the overall youth champion title (highest Score) “This show is especially fun because I get to compete with other junior riders and get to know them, and maybe in the future we will get to be teammates at North American Youth Championships,” said Boyer, who came out on top of the nine combinations in the Junior division. “Showing here at WEC is definitely amazing. We’ve worked a lot to get Campanero to not be so spooky, and this is the show where he really outdid himself and wasn’t spooky, so it was really nice. We’ve been together for four years working up toward juniors. It’s been interesting to get to ride an advanced horse at a young age,” added Boyer, who has won all six international tests she has entered with Campanero since they began competing at CDIs in September 2022. Thank you all the Team of HGF for making this possible, but specially Maria Lithander for endless support, teaching and guidance .
Vaquero HGF Steps Down from Sport.
Life has its stages. On Sunday, March 13 2022, Kerrigan closed a beautiful stage of her riding career with Vaquero HGF as this combination said a final goodbye to the competition arenas. Vaquero HGF made his last strides in the competition ring at the national level Grand Prix Special at WEC, OCALA . There is always a horse that marks your life and sports career, and for Kerrigan Gluch, that horse has been Vaquero HGF. Her evolution, from Young Riders to Grand Prix, has been a journey full of all of the joys and sorrows necessary to achieve success. Retiring your first important equine partner is always bittersweet—but Vaquero’s career and success began quite a while before he partnered with Kerrigan. This is his story: Bred in Michigan for Success around the World. Bred in the beautiful state of Michigan, Vaquero HGF has the bloodlines of two of Hampton Green’s most well-loved stallions—Idilio II on the dam side, with Cuatrero IV (Marin Garcia) for his sire. Originally selected by Courtney King-Dye as a future prospect, owner Kimberly Van Kampen was forced to make other plans for Vaquero following Courtney’s untimely departure from the sport. At 3 years old, Vaquero was sent to Spain for his early training, and to see how this American product would do in competition against the best young horses in that country. In the hands of Daniel Martin Dockx, Vaquero became an elite young horse prospect for Spain. He made his national debut as a four year old, finishing in the top 10 at the National Young Horse Championships and among the top five of PRE breed. In 2013, he campaigned at the five year old levels and again finished the National Young Horse Championships in the top 10, and in the top 3 PREs in the country. His last year of young horse competition at 6 years, Vaquero finished 6th nationally, and the highest ranked PRE in the country. The year ended with a bronze medal at SICAB, which is particularly notable in that he is the first PRE horse bred in United States to win a medal in the prestigious PRE World Championships. The Growth of a New Partnership Vaquero HGF and Kerrigan Gluch began their partnership in 2015. Together they achieved many successes representing the colors of American Flag in both the US and Europe. Gluch and Vaquero were one of the most dynamic and successful dressage combinations in the Young Rider level in US. The pair made numerous appearances at the international level, more precisely a total of 36 entries. On February 20, 2015, Kerrigan faced the center line for the first time with Vaquero in Wellington, Florida . As an 8-year-old, under the training of Oded Shimoni, Kerrigan and Vaquero HGF won the Bronze Medal at NAJYRC and went on to become the USEF Reserve Young Rider National Champion. Their successes continued and in 2016, this duo was selected for the European Tour. They concluded their Euro Tour in the ribbons at the Young Riders Nations Cup in Hagen (Future Champions), Germany, the only PRE among the best warmbloods and young riders in Europe. In 2018, with the help of Robert Dover, they debuted in the U25 level with scores up to 68%. Two years later, at their peak of their level, Kerrigan Gluch and Vaquero HGF took home the runner up Champion of the USEF Brentina Cup. Following his success at U25, Vaquero never showed the same enthusiasm for the Big Tour. After several national starts, rider and owner decided that the horse had given enough and deserved to have a say in his own future. After an early rigorous start in the young horse circuits of Spain, Vaquero became the great companion of battles for a young rider on the long road to Grand Prix . This horse not only taught her the way but allowed her to fulfill her dream of representing the United States on foreign land. At 16 years old, Vaquero has nothing more to prove. On March 13, Kerrigan and Vaquero took their final salute together at X. Still 100% sound and able to enjoy pleasure rides with his special girl, Vaquero will be rewarded with a peaceful retirement at the farm of his birth. Thank you Vaquero HGF for all these years…
OCALA CDI - Dancing Under the Lights in the CDI3*
International dressage returned to World Equestrian Center (WEC) in Ocala, Florida, on Thursday 14 April 2022, with CDI3* competition sponsored by Hampton Green Farm and Discover Dressage. In a Grand Prix field of 26 entries, Kerrigan Gluch and Mejorano HGF started on Thursday gearing up the P.R.E engines in the CDI3* claiming the sixth position in a large class with a Personal Best in the GP with a 70.217% Even if we were full of joy, reasons to be happy were not over. On Friday Under the Lights, Kerrigan danced Grandioso’s Kur with Mejorano HGF. The atmosphere was magic, electrifying and above all mesmerizing. The Spanish melodies echoed in the Grand Arena and Kerrigan delighted the spectators, who roared into applause, shouts and ovations. At the end, the pair was all smiles after scoring a personal best of 73.725% for the yellow ribbon. Gluch was also able to tick off a goal on her list by competing in this freestyle in the Grand Arena. When I saw this facility before I moved here, I said, ‘I want to go down that chute and under the lights. I don’t know when it’s going to happen, but it’s a goal,’” she recalled. “I didn’t know if there would be people in the stands, and it was very full. It was incredible to trot in and see everyone there under the lights. It was a dream come true. To be able to do that tonight in front of a big crowd and representing Kim and Hampton Green Farm well and proud and showing off the breed is really special.” April 15th will be remembered as the night that Mejorano HGF followed the steps of his father.
HGF culminates the 2021 season with multiple ribbons
This past weekend, all eyes turned to the World Equestrian Center for another CDI and National Dressage show. Hampton Green Farm horses competed in several levels in both the national and international rings. The MVP of the HGF TEAM was clearly Kerrigan Gluch with Mejorano HGF (By Grandioso III), who claimed another GP international podium at the CDI3*. Mejorano HGF is a talented 10-year-old gray gelding whose path in the Big Tour has just started. On Friday, they were performing their second international GP. Rookie mistakes dropped the score to 66.609%. But, on Saturday, the bitter taste turned into a sweet one: the duo climbed up to the second position with a new personal best of 70.106%. Judges were mesmerized with the collected exercises, such as passage and piaffe, rewarding them with multiples 7,5 and 8s. Additionally, Kerrigan completed the show with a third and a win in the national GP with Vaquero HGF. The effort and discipline of Sophia Schults are endless, and this weekend her work has paid-off. Over the years she has built up the training of her own Conocido HGF. As she prepares for the Young Rider levels, Sophia competed in two PSGs last weekend at WEC. Both days she won her competitive classes with scores close to 69%. Both Sophia and Kerrigan were trained by Charlotte Bredahl, who commented: “It has been a great week at the CDI at the WEC in Ocala. I came up here to coach the riders from Hampton Green Farm. They all did great. Sophia Schults won both of her FEI test of Choice classes riding the Young Rider tests. Maria Lithander does her daily training and I do weekly virtual lessons. Maria herself finished 4th in the open Grand Prix on her own HGF Barbara. Kerrigan Gluch ended up second in the CDI Grand Special with a 70% on Hampton Green Farms talented Mejorano. I am so proud of them for doing so well in only their second CDI together. The test had many highlights. Kerrigan also finished 3rd in the open Grand Prix on HGF Vaquero. I have been coaching Kerrigan for over three years now and it is exciting to see her move into the Senior ranks and do so well.” In other news, Sam Stenger and Olivia Stille continue to confirm themselves at Third Level with respectable scores and placements in last weekend’s large classes. Hampton Green Farms culminates the 2021 season with multiple ribbons and on top of the boards. But more important: with the engines ready for the new upcoming season 2022 at WEC Ocala.
HGF rocks at WEC

Justine Boyer and Campanero HGF (by Camaron IX) captured a double victory in the Third Level Test 1 with scores above 68%. Justine is ready for a smooth transition to juniors level next year. More over, Kerrigan Gluch & Mejorano HGF, a son of two-time Olympian Grandioso II, made their American debut in CDI 3* competition, following a successful early career in Spain with José Daniel Martin Dockx that included participation on the Spanish Team at the Young Horse World Championships in Ermelo in 2018. Kerrigan and Mejorano HGF, the new combination, received a score of 67.283% in the Grand Prix On Saturday, they performed the Grand Prix Special and finished third (68.723) . The pair impressed the judges with their piaffe earning high marks (for their skillful rhythm). They took third place both days. Very excited about the future, Kerrigan said: “I am very proud of Mejorano in his debut in the Grand Prix Arena. It has been a dream of mine to compete at thus level and I’m so grateful to be able to do it with such a special horse. Thank you Kim Van Kampen for all of the love and support. We are eager to continue training as we prepare for the next competition”. Sophia Schults competed one of the youngest prospects, Cartujano FSR and showcased the wonderful gaits he has. Last but not least, Samantha Stenger and Alivia Stille showed Diva HGF (By Cuatrero IV) and Cuarzo HGF (By Cuatrero IV) respectively. They performed new exercises in order to move the horses into new levels for the upcoming season. We are so proud of everyone for their great rides, dedication, and hard work! HGF P.R.E horses were once again in the scene and they did not disappoint

Global Dressage Season in Wellington Kicks Off with Busy January
2018 started the year with numerous events at or involving Hampton Green Farm. During the first week of the year, the Robert Dover Horsemastership clinic took over the farm for one day utilizing all three arenas. Meanwhile, Lendon Gray and her WITees completed their move-in week and began the intensive training for which the program is named. Vanessa Voltman and Albert Gesierich's horses and clients started their winter season, having just arrived from Michigan. The final few horses arrived to the main barn, with every stall occupied on the property. Dani Martin and Charlotte Bredahl were on hand in January to work with all of the HGF pairs and prepare them for their warm-up classes in the national levels. Maria Lithander rode several Inter I classes with Barbara, and will now focus on the short Grand Prix with the assistance of Charlotte. Kerrigan Gluch showed all her horses at the national levels in the respective levels, Brio and Bolero at the U25 Grand Prix, and Vaquero at Inter I, followed by his first time at Inter A. Sarah Roda introduced Quintanillo to Fourth Level, in preparation for Young Riders. All pairs scored in the mid to upper 60s, and all horses demonstrated that they were prepared for new levels. Lily Forado, our marketing intern, arrived just in time to start the promotion for USPRE Week. This year's USPRE Party was the biggest ever in terms of turn-out. Over 1000 people came to a standing-room-only event filling both of the VIP tents of the Global Pavilion. One of the highlights of a very animated program was when four HGF geldings did a quadrille in costume with youth riders Kerrigan Gluch, Sarah Roda, Sophia Schults and Elena Schiefe--a performance which will be repeated at the Challenge of the Americas in March. Many VIPs from Spain and around the country attended USPRE week, and more than 30 PREs performed at the USPRE Party, from exhibitions to FEI freestyles. Later that week, Kerrigan rode Bolero in a master class with Andreas Helgstrand during the Friday night CDIW Freestyles, and later on Spanish Young Horse Champion Guillermo Ayala rode Diego (Didacus) in a seminar with Spanish team osteopath Antonio Valenzuela. The week concluded with a round table discussion featuring ANCCE officials and an FEI 4* judge discussing the PRE role in the upcoming World Championship of Young Horses. January closed with a quiet few days, for some well-needed rest before February's clinics and shows.
Two Hampton Green Horses in the Top Four in 2018 Brentina's Cup
Following a season in Europe, HGF U25 rider Kerrigan Gluch put two HGF PREs in the top 4 places in the USEF Brentina Cup Finals at the 2018 Festival of Champions, Wayne IL. With Bolero, Kerrigan's mount in Europe, she finished 2nd in the Freestyle and Fourth overall, capping a successful first season together at the short Grand Prix. Normally exuberant Brio was gelded over the summer and is still returning to full fitness, but the pair had an outstanding weekend and finished with the Bronze Medal overall in these national U25 champioships. This year's Brentina Cup was one of the biggest and most competitive since the inception of the U25 finals. The U25 Grand Prix is a growing division in Europe which is feeding adult teams with top talent. Starting this year, the United States Equestrian Federation, in conjunction with Discover Dressage, is developing new programs and focus on this division, and this year's Brentina Cup finals is evidence of its development in the States.
HGF Riders Move Horses to New Levels with Success in Winter 2018 Season
The Wellington Season with its 8 CDIs and 13 national shows provided lots of opportunities for Hampton Green Farm to introduce young horses to new levels, from first-time shows at Training Level to the U25 Grand Prix. And for the confirmed horses, Wellington 2018 was another season of international competition and great results. Maria Lithander began the year with some final scores at the Small Tour with her 9 year old HGF-bred mare, Barbara, and then introduced her to the Inter II, with the help of Charlotte Bredahl, with consistent scores in the high 60s. Maria also took our young prospects, five year old Diego and Ebanisto to their first shows at Training and First Levels, winning the PRE High Point Award at the Palm Beach Derby with Ebanisto with a high score of 73.8. Daniel Martin Dockx traveled to Wellington multiple times this fall and winter to work with Kerrigan Gluch and her horses and the effort paid off. Kerrigan and HGF Brio returned to the international show ring at the U25 Grand Prix following some time off last year. The pair took two 2ndplaces in the CDI at the Palm Beach Derby and received their qualifying scores for the Festival of Champions over the course of the season. With the help of Dani, Kerrigan has discovered a new and exciting partner in Bolero for the future. After a big Freestyle win in Week 7, Bolero and Kerrigan were selected for the US Team at the CDIO Nations Cup and finished the weekend with a spectacular 2ndplace finish in the freestyle, breaking the 70% mark for the first time. Following the end of the circuit, USEF announced that Kerrian and Bolero would travel with the US team to compete in Europe this summer, starting in Rotterdam in June. Additionally, Vaquero HGF did his first Inter II and U25 Grand Prix tests in the national levels, making the leap this year to the big tour with promising results for the eleven year old stallion. 17 year old Working Student Sophia Schults has patiently moved Idolo Americano up from Juniors to Young Riders this year, making their debut in the international arena at a test which is a strong suit for both of them. With continually improving scores, Sophia and Idolo have gone on to top several qualifying classes in the Midwest and hope to represent Region 2 at the North American Championships and the Festival of Champions later this summer. She also rode her young gelding Conocido HGF in his first classes this winter. Last but not least, 19 year old Working Student Sarah Roda introdued her Quintanillo JJ to the Fourth Level in preparation for Young Riders next year. Trained by Maria Lithander, the pair posted scores in the mid 60s and continued to show their ability to manage the new challenges that will be met in the bigger ring next season. Our team of Working Students, with the addition of Elena Schiefele, were also busy forming the HGF Quadrille, which featured all HGF owned or bred horses, and which performed at several charity events, including the warm-up act for the Challenge of the Americas! In other news, HGF is getting ready to host the Lendon Youth Dressage Festival Midwest this year with brand new arenas and a new special Trainer’s incentive—a sponsorship of a week of lessons with National Team Trainer Robert Dover to the trainer of the Grand Championship for the show! This year’s program will feature Janne Rumbough as our speaker and dressage commentator—one of the founders of the Florida circuit and easiy the most famous Adult Amateur Grand Prix rider in the world! More details to come….! Photos by Lily Forado
HGF Horses at Adequan Global Dressage Festival 2017
Hampton Green Farm competed five horses over the course of the 12 weeks of the 2017 Adequan Global Dressage Festival, in both the national and international levels. Our riders this season were Head Trainer Maria Lithander, and working students Kerrigan Gluch, Nicole Pelfresne and Sophia Schults. Our MVP of the season was clearly Maria Lithander with Barbara HGF (Bolero x Huelvana), who debuted at the Developing Horse Prix St. George level with scores reaching 74%. Barbara HGF is a powerful, talented 8-year-old gray mare owned by Maria, who first competed her at the PSG last summer. This season, they will secure their place in the USEF ranking with hopes of participating in the Young Horse Finals at the Festival of Champions this summer, a first for a PRE mare. HGF-sponsored young rider Kerrigan Gluch presented HGF Brio in several national classes at Inter II and U25 last fall, receiving scores above 70%, prior to entering the international ring in January. Following the 5*, a small injury sidelined the pair for the majority of the season, but they were ready when called to represent the United States in the first-ever U25 Nations Cup held during Week 11. As part of the three-member team for the US, Kerrigan and Brio completed their 2017 winter season with a Gold Medal. Throughout the winter, Kerrigan and Vaquero continued to work with Wellington-based trainer Oded Shimoni, as they prepare the horse for the U25 Grand Prix next year. At the end of the season, Kerrigan showed Vaquero at Inter I, placing well both days in large Open classes with scores in the mid-60s. Junior rider Sophia Schults presented Idolo Americano HGF at the Junior level with accuracy and consistency throughout the season. The pair won several national Third Level classes prior to showing the FEI Junior test. They did two CDIs (which includes all three Junior tests—Team, Individual and Freestyle) with success, averaging 65% and placing as high as Third in the final outing. This is the first time Idolo has competed in the international arena and we are very proud of how well Sophia presented him. Sophia trained Idolo with Anne Gribbons this winter. Wellington first-timer Nicole Pelfresne brought her own Diva HGF to the big rings this winter with the assistance of Maria Lithander. Nicole’s parents purchased Diva as a two-year old at the HGF Top Ten auction in 2010, and seventeen-year-old Nicole has trained her from the start. She joined the HGF team last summer as a working student, and both Nicole and her nine year old mare by Cuatrero (out of Luz/Idilio) have flourished in the program. Diva, who has outstanding gaits, has been known to be a strong ride, but became much more seasoned in the show ring this winter, eventually scoring close to 67% at First Level. We are very proud of Nicole and excited to see what she and Diva will do in the future. Additionally, former working student and HGF family member Sarah Roda and Quintanillo JJ (purchased from HGF) had a successful first season together at Third Level--so successful, in fact, that the pair were the High Scoring PRE of the Palm Beach Derby and second highest scoring pair overall for the whole show with 75.641%! Sarah is trained by Maria Lithander. All the horses will return to Michigan some time this spring. Maria and Kerrigan’s upcoming plans are to work with Daniel Martin Dockx, who will come to HGF for extended clinics several times over the summer. Special thanks to Marketing Intern Lily Forado for the beautiful photo coverage of our season.
Kerrigan Gluch and Vaquero Selected for USEF European Tour
19 year old Kerrigan Gluch and 2007 PRE Stallion Vaquero HGF have been selected for the USEF European Tour 2016. The pair will travel to a training facility in Dorsten, Germany, in May where they will prepare to represent the United States on the Young Rider Team at two Nations Cups--the CDIO in Compiegne, France and at CDIO Future Champions in Hagen, Germany. Kerrigan was one of three US Young Riders who qualified for the team. Selection was based on ranking of CDI scores and personal qualities. Kerrigan will be traveling with Bebe Davis of Wellington, FL, and Lauren Asher of San Diego, CA.
Hampton Green Farm’s Brio and Kerrigan Gluch take Third at USEF Festival of Champions U25
Kerrigan Gluch and HGF Brio, capping their first year together at the Young Rider Grand Prix, finished Third overall behind Anna Buffini in the USEF Brentina Cup Finals (U25) at the Festival Champions. The pair scored 64.2 and 65.5 to finish third out of seven riders in the National Championship for Young Rider Grand Prix.
Vaquero HGF and Kerrigan Gluch Lead Team USA at Hagen Future Champions CDIOY
Nineteen year old Kerrigan Gluch and 2007 PRE Stallion Vaquero HGF concluded the 2016 USEF Young Rider Euro Tour in the ribbons at the Young Riders Nations Cup in Hagen, Germany, capping a six-week tour of Europe that included two international shows. Following a disappointing performance in May at the CDI in Compiegne, France, Kerrigan and Vaquero moved to Krefeld and spent four weeks preparing for the Hagen show with Jan Bemelmans. The Hagen CDIOY, known as the PSI Future Champions show, brings together teams of Young Riders and other youth levels from all over Europe in both dressage and jumping. The United States Young Rider team finished Fifth overall, with Kerrigan and Vaquero the leading pair for the US. In the YR Individual class they finished sixth, and a respectable 10th in both the Team and Freestyle tests-- distinguishing themselves among the best Young Riders and top horses in Europe.
