Official Statement on Santiago HGF

Following an outstanding spring season in the United States, highlighted by impressive performances at the CDI Ocala and CDI TerraNova, and culminating at the CDI Segovia, Santiago HGF, ridden by Antonio Crespín, earned his selection for the 2026 FEI WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championship for Young Horses. In recent days, Santiago HGF suffered an incident that required veterinary attention. Although he was progressing well, as a precautionary measure he was referred to a veterinary hospital in Belgium to verify that everything was evolving as expected and to undergo a comprehensive examination. Following the necessary diagnostic tests and the assessment of the veterinary team, the decision was made to withdraw him from competition. From the very beginning, the horse's health and welfare have been our absolute priority. Kim Van Kampen commented:  “Of course we’re disappointed but we are also experienced horse people and things go this way sometimes. In this case we had a choice to make and we chose the safest option for the horse. We don’t want to show a horse that is not 100%. We stand with the Spanish team and wish them the best of luck and a wonderful week in Verden” We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone involved, especially the veterinary team, for their professionalism, dedication, and outstanding care. Finally, we would like to wish the very best of luck to all the members of the P.R.E team who will represent Spain at the 2026 FEI WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championship for Young Horses.

HGF & Kerrigan part ways after 15 years

Kerrigan Gluch is leaving Hampton Green Farm in Ocala, Florida after 15 years competing the stable’s P.R.E. horses. Kerrigan, aged 29 and originally from Michigan, has competed HGF horses on both sides of the Atlantic. Kimberly van Kampen, the owner of the stable, said Saturday: “Kerrigan is a wonderful person who has been a part of Hampton Green Farm for 15 years. She has treated my horses like they were her own, and she has always been a most trusted friend and accomplished rider. “We support her in any decision she makes for this next chapter in life and look forward to her successes. It’s been a real joy to have been her sponsor all these years.” Kerrigan became the first American to be selected on a pure Spanish horse, Mejorano, for an official USA team for Europe that paid off with a personal best score in the CDIO4* Nations Cup of the Netherlands Grand Prix Freestyle in 2024. She told DRESSAGE-NEWS.com: “The past 15 years with HGF have been truly special. I’ve had the opportunity to grow through the levels, developing not only as a rider but as a professional, while working with some incredible horses and people who have shaped me along the way. I am especially grateful for the unique experiences and travels this journey has given me. I will always value these opportunities. “I am deeply thankful for all the support Kim has given me and will always recognize the significant role she has played in my career. “As I look ahead, I’m excited to take some time to be with family and explore new opportunities. I strongly believe that everything happens for a reason, and I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next.” Hampton Green hired Jose Daniel Martin Dockx of Spain as the in-house trainer, and he moved to Ocala. The rider competed Hampton Green’s Grandioso, the sire of Mejorano, at the 2012 London and 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics as well as the 2014 World Equestrian Games and the 2013 and 2015 European Championships. Ten Years of Grandioso’s Legacy

Following the social media tren, this year marks a decade of the Grandioso era (2016–2026). In 2016, Grandioso III and José Daniel Martín Dockx competed at the CDIO5* Aachen and later represented Spain at the Olympic Games in Rio. Today, the story continues at Hampton Green Farm, where a new generation of riders; including Kerrigan Gluch and Antonio Crespin; are developing the stallion’s offspring, carrying his influence into the future of the breed such as Ferro HGF, Santiago HFG  One of the most importants offsprings of Grandioso has been Mejorano HGF. This horse was trained by José Daniel Martin Dockx from 6 years old up to GP (2019) . Mejorano HGF represented Spain at the World Championships of Young horses in 2018 at the 7 years old class. In 2019, Kerrigan Took the reins of the horses and started her GP campaign in 2020. Fast Forward, in 2023, Kerrigan represented United States with our US-home bred PRE horse Mejorano HGF at the CDIO5* Nations Cup in Rotterdam. On the freestyle she scored: 75.350 ending up at 7th place.

Ocala, FL – Competition wrapped up on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at the Hampton Green Farms WEC May Dressage CDI3* presented by Lugano Diamonds. Winning all three of their classes this week were Justine Boyer (USA) and Campanero HGF in the Junior CDI division.  Boyer and Campanero HGF, an 11-year-old PRE gelding by Camaron IX x Adelante owned by Hampton Green Farm, closed out their week with a win in the CDIJ Junior Freestyle with a top score of 72.250%. Laila Edwards (USA) and Farah-Jade, her own 14-year-old KWPN mare by Casantos x Gagson Wimborn AA, scored 68.442% for second place. Justine Boyer and Campanero HGF, her partner of five years, swept the CDIJ Junior division this week. Photo by Andrew Ryback Photography Campanero HGF is a home-bred, and Boyer has been riding the gelding for five years. They started at Training Level and went through to Third Level. This is their second year competing at the international level.  Boyer, who is 17 years old, noted that their trust has grown throughout the years, and she has learned how to better manage her horse's spookiness. "He's a super caring and a willing horse to do the job. He wants to please you and make you happy," said Boyer. "He's tested me in a very good way with my riding. He was more advanced than I was when I started riding him. He taught me patience. He has feelings and is sensitive; he's an animal." Boyer and Campanero HGF performed their freestyle to the music of the movie "Moana." Photo by Andrew Ryback Photography The pair rode to a freestyle designed by Marlene Whitaker that featured music from the Disney movie "Moana."  "This week we wanted to work on his trot work and get him to really come through and have him loosen up his neck while maintaining the activity," explained Boyer. "The freestyle went pretty well. I could have ridden few of the changes better. What we wanted to work on today was accomplished. It definitely helped our confidence in a few of the different movements." This is their third CDI Freestyle this year as they work toward their goal of qualifying for the Region 3 team for the 2024 FEI North American Youth Championships as well as the U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions. Boyer thanked her entire team at Hampton Green Farm, along with her trainer, Maria Lithander, and her parents for their support. Charlotte Osborne (GBR) and Escada RB, a 10-year-old Rheinlander mare by Escolar x Fidertanz owned by Chantelle Noble, scored a personal best of 69.500% to top the Intermediate I Freestyle CDI1*. HGF keeps bringing excellence at the WEC during the CDI3*

May1st.  A phenomenal week of International equestrian competition concluded on Sunday, April 16th  at WEC. Emotions had run high last weekend for HGF TEAM , we are  still on a cloud nine. Justine and Campanero HGF started the week closing the podium on  CDI Juniors Team Test with a personal best of 66.313. On Sunday , she collected  the title of Freestyle Winner with an overall score of 73.067%. She chose her signature Moana’s music with an  exciting choreography to make her freestyle stand out.   We are over the moon with these results. In a space of three/four months, Justine and Campanero have climbed and in their five international outings, three of them have been victories.    Last but not least, Kerrigan and Mejorano HGF  have been unstoppable this winter season.  The Kick-Off of the CDI3* Ocala was  excellent with  third place of Kerrigan Gluch and Mejorano HGF on THE GP Qual. for GPFS (67.913%).  The icing on the cake came on Friday Under The Lights during the Freestyles. This duo danced to the Spanish melodies of “La Mancha” and after the first extended trot, the shouts and ovations sprung from the bleachers.    “We did that on purpose for the Freestyle to start strong, and I think it helped us,” revealed Gluch. “In a way, [the crowd support] takes the stress away a little bit. Not that you want to be distracted, but the crowd likes this, so I get to enjoy it even more than I already am. It makes me relax a bit. I like the feedback.”“I really wanted to go show him off,” said Kerrigan of the 12-year-old PRE gelding by Grandioso x Galan XVI owned by Hampton Green Farm. “I always put a little pressure on myself to do the best I can, but I try not to put that on him. I think I was able to do that tonight, which led to a good score and good test. I think I rode well, and he performed really well.” As the crowd favorite of the night, Kerrigan Gluch Mejorano HGF closed the podium  with a personal best score of 74.755% HGF keeps bringing excellence in Dressage. Special thank you to all the team, but most of all to Maria Lithander for being our backbone and outstanding trainer.

OCALA CDI - Dancing Under the Lights in the CDI3*

International dressage returned to World Equestrian Center (WEC) in Ocala, Florida, on Thursday 14 April 2022, with CDI3* competition sponsored by Hampton Green Farm and Discover Dressage. In a Grand Prix field of 26 entries, Kerrigan Gluch and Mejorano HGF started on Thursday gearing up the P.R.E engines in the CDI3* claiming the sixth position in a large class with a Personal Best in the GP with a 70.217% Even if we were full of joy, reasons to be happy were not over. On Friday Under the Lights, Kerrigan danced Grandioso’s Kur with Mejorano HGF. The atmosphere was magic, electrifying and above all mesmerizing. The Spanish melodies echoed in the Grand Arena and Kerrigan delighted the spectators, who roared into applause, shouts and ovations. At the end, the pair was all smiles after scoring a personal best of 73.725% for the yellow ribbon. Gluch was also able to tick off a goal on her list by competing in this freestyle in the Grand Arena. When I saw this facility before I moved here, I said, ‘I want to go down that chute and under the lights. I don’t know when it’s going to happen, but it’s a goal,’” she recalled. “I didn’t know if there would be people in the stands, and it was very full. It was incredible to trot in and see everyone there under the lights. It was a dream come true. To be able to do that tonight in front of a big crowd and representing Kim and Hampton Green Farm well and proud and showing off the breed is really special.” April 15th will be remembered as the night that Mejorano HGF followed the steps of his father.

HGF culminates the 2021 season with multiple ribbons

This past weekend, all eyes turned to the World Equestrian Center for another CDI and National Dressage show. Hampton Green Farm horses competed in several levels in both the national and international rings.  The MVP of the HGF TEAM was clearly Kerrigan Gluch with Mejorano HGF (By Grandioso III), who claimed another GP international podium at the CDI3*. Mejorano HGF is a talented 10-year-old gray gelding whose path in the Big Tour has just started. On Friday, they were performing their second international GP. Rookie mistakes dropped the score to 66.609%. But, on Saturday, the bitter taste turned into a sweet one: the duo climbed up to the second position with a new personal best of 70.106%. Judges were mesmerized with the collected exercises, such as passage and piaffe, rewarding them with multiples 7,5 and 8s.  Additionally, Kerrigan completed the show with a third and a win in the national GP with Vaquero HGF.   The effort and discipline of Sophia Schults are endless, and this weekend her work has paid-off.  Over the years she has built up the training of her own Conocido HGF. As she prepares for the Young Rider levels, Sophia competed in two PSGs last weekend at WEC. Both days she won her competitive classes with scores close to 69%. Both Sophia and Kerrigan were trained by Charlotte Bredahl, who commented: “It has been a great week at the CDI at the WEC in Ocala. I came up here to coach the riders from Hampton Green Farm. They all did great. Sophia Schults won both of her FEI test of Choice classes riding the Young Rider tests. Maria Lithander does her daily training and I do weekly virtual lessons. Maria herself finished 4th in the open Grand Prix on her own HGF Barbara.  Kerrigan Gluch ended up second in the CDI Grand Special with a 70% on Hampton Green Farms talented Mejorano. I am so proud of them for doing so well in only their second CDI together. The test had many highlights. Kerrigan also finished 3rd in the open Grand Prix on HGF Vaquero. I have been coaching Kerrigan for over three years now and it is exciting to see her move into the Senior ranks and do so well.”  In other news, Sam Stenger and Olivia Stille continue to confirm themselves at Third Level with respectable scores and placements in last weekend’s large classes. Hampton Green Farms culminates the 2021 season with multiple ribbons and on top of the boards.  But more important: with the engines ready for the new upcoming season 2022 at WEC Ocala.

HGF Riders Move Horses to New Levels with Success in Winter 2018 Season

The Wellington Season with its 8 CDIs and 13 national shows provided lots of opportunities for Hampton Green Farm to introduce young horses to new levels, from first-time shows at Training Level to the U25 Grand Prix. And for the confirmed horses, Wellington 2018 was another season of international competition and great results. Maria Lithander began the year with some final scores at the Small Tour with her 9 year old HGF-bred mare, Barbara, and then introduced her to the Inter II, with the help of Charlotte Bredahl, with consistent scores in the high 60s. Maria also took our young prospects, five year old Diego and Ebanisto to their first shows at Training and First Levels, winning the PRE High Point Award at the Palm Beach Derby with Ebanisto with a high score of 73.8. Daniel Martin Dockx traveled to Wellington multiple times this fall and winter to work with Kerrigan Gluch and her horses and the effort paid off. Kerrigan and HGF Brio returned to the international show ring at the U25 Grand Prix following some time off last year. The pair took two 2ndplaces in the CDI at the Palm Beach Derby and received their qualifying scores for the Festival of Champions over the course of the season. With the help of Dani, Kerrigan has discovered a new and exciting partner in Bolero for the future. After a big Freestyle win in Week 7, Bolero and Kerrigan were selected for the US Team at the CDIO Nations Cup and finished the weekend with a spectacular 2ndplace finish in the freestyle, breaking the 70% mark for the first time. Following the end of the circuit, USEF announced that Kerrian and Bolero would travel with the US team to compete in Europe this summer, starting in Rotterdam in June. Additionally, Vaquero HGF did his first Inter II and U25 Grand Prix tests in the national levels, making the leap this year to the big tour with promising results for the eleven year old stallion. 17 year old Working Student Sophia Schults has patiently moved Idolo Americano up from Juniors to Young Riders this year, making their debut in the international arena at a test which is a strong suit for both of them. With continually improving scores, Sophia and Idolo have gone on to top several qualifying classes in the Midwest and hope to represent Region 2 at the North American Championships and the Festival of Champions later this summer. She also rode her young gelding Conocido HGF in his first classes this winter. Last but not least, 19 year old Working Student Sarah Roda introdued her Quintanillo JJ to the Fourth Level in preparation for Young Riders next year. Trained by Maria Lithander, the pair posted scores in the mid 60s and continued to show their ability to manage the new challenges that will be met in the bigger ring next season. Our team of Working Students, with the addition of Elena Schiefele, were also busy forming the HGF Quadrille, which featured all HGF owned or bred horses, and which performed at several charity events, including the warm-up act for the Challenge of the Americas! In other news, HGF is getting ready to host the Lendon Youth Dressage Festival Midwest this year with brand new arenas and a new special Trainer’s incentive—a sponsorship of a week of lessons with National Team Trainer Robert Dover to the trainer of the Grand Championship for the show! This year’s program will feature Janne Rumbough as our speaker and dressage commentator—one of the founders of the Florida circuit and easiy the most famous Adult Amateur Grand Prix rider in the world! Kerrigan Gluch and Vaquero HGF: USEF Reserve National Young Rider Champions

At the USEF Festival of Champions in August at Lamplight Equestrian Center, long-time HGF working student Kerrigan Gluch and HGF's Vaquero were named USEF Reserve National Champion for Young Riders. In this first year together, and their first year at the Young Riders level, 18 year old Kerrigan and 8 year old Vaquero have made steady progress from national shows to international shows, to eventually a Bronze Medal at NAJYRC and now the Reserve National Championship. At Lamplight, Kerrigan was joined by both Lendon Gray and Oded Shimoni. Kerrigan is a product of Gray's Emerging Dressage Athlete and Winter Intensive Training programs, and Wellington-based Shimoni is her current trainer. Kerrigan and Vaquero were up against stiff competition, especially from 21 year old Catherine Chamberlain--a multiple NAJYRC medalist who was recently returned from the USEF European Tour--and Natalie Pai, ranked first nationally going into the competition. In the team test, Kerrigan narrowly edged out Catherine for the win, but the tables turned in the individual test. Kerrigan's scores of 69.298 and 68.289 gave them second place overall and the Reserve National Championship. Kerrigan and Vaquero's plans are to continue to compete this winter at the Young Rider level in the CDIs in Wellington, while working with Shimoni with the YR Grand Prix as an eventual goal.

Spain Takes Bronze at CDIO Hagen 2015

Spain took the Bronze Medal again this year at the Nations Cup held annually in Germany. Normally located at the prestigious Aachen showgrounds, this year's CDIO was moved to the private facility of Hof Kasselmann due to the upcoming European Championships being held at Aachen in August. Eight nations were invited to compete at what was also the German final qualifier for the ECs. Germany, as expected, took the Gold, with Denmark the Silver and, repeating their placement of 2014, Spain took home the Bronze. The Spanish team consisted of Beatrice Ferrer-Salat and Delgado, Daniel Martin Dockx with Grandioso, Jordi Domingo and Wonder, and Claudio Castillo with Alcaide. HGF's Grandioso and Daniel moved up in the Individual standings with every test, to finish at 11th placein the Kur, solidifying their place on the Spanish Team for the more important upcoming European Championships. Wellington Show Season Wrap-Up 2015

The Global Dressage Festival 2015 is now a memory. It’s been one month since the Nation’s Cup ended—the final of 7 International Shows in Wellington, highlighted by 3 CDI-Ws, a 4*, 5* and the CDIO. This season exceeded all expectations for participation by both riders and spectators. The VIP Pavilion was sold out in September and word has it that there are more than 40 names on a waiting list for tables for 2016. Friday night freestyles were performed to a packed house, week after week, regardless of weather. The Grand Prix and Small Tour classes were filled to capacity, with show management needing to move the start earlier in the week to accommodate all the rides during the last month of the Festival. Numbers of national rides also increased, and the shows held in between the CDIs were as full as the big weeks. The Youth Festival, held in mid-March, was a highlight as four top youth riders from Europe flew in with their horses to bring a taste of European competition to our Junior and Young Rider classes. The international classes for the youth were the biggest on record for the Festival, bringing riders from many other countries including Spain, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. In addition to having Dani in Wellington with Grandioso and Bolero, HGF sponsored three riders in the youth divisions this past winter. A quick summary of our season is below: Daniel Martin Dockx and Bolero—Bolero traveled with Grandioso to begin his Grand Prix career in Wellington. They started out strong with a score of close to 71% in a large national class judged by international judges, but were disqualified as our rider was wearing a top hat instead of a helmet. The new rule (since 2014) requiring helmets in the national Grand Prix is unique to America, but the mistake was ours in failing to be aware of the change. They went on, however, in the CDI 3* the following week, to do a green and somewhat insecure first international Grand Prix, finishing in the middle of the class, but placing fourth in a more confident Freestyle the next day. Bolero benefitted from the pressure of the electric Wellington environment and we are confident that with more experience, he will be the next PRE to watch. Chelsea Reed and Faralay II—Chelsea is a longtime HGF working student who has spent most of her time working with our young horses, however she got the chance to compete at higher levels this winter with one of the United States’ most well-known PRE breeding stallions, Faralay II owned by Betsy Ketcham of Ketcham Ranch. Faralay was sent to HGF to expose him to more challenging competition venues and with Chelsea he proved that he could handle the additional distractions and pressure, bringing home scores in the mid-60s at Prix St. George and Young Riders Tests in the national classes. Faralay will return to Ketcham Ranch this Spring to fulfill his busy breeding schedule. Ayden Uhlir—We also had the pleasure of hosting Ayden Uhlir and her wonderful Sjaepoor for the winter. Sjaepoor is a Dutch warmblood and together they have several national youth championships under their belt. This winter they showed in both the CDI Small Tour and later in the CDI Young Riders, where they were often the highest scoring American pair. Ayden's other talents include singing, and she was a finalist in Robert Dover’s American Equestrian’s Got Talent. Ayden’s immediate plans are to qualify for the USEF European Tour this summer. Kerrigan Gluch with Vaquero HGF and HGF Brio—Kerrigan and Vaquero made big strides this winter, a season of growth for both of them. Now 18, Kerrigan has moved up from Juniors to Young Riders, with the help of trainers Robert Dover and Daniel Martin. Vaquero HGF (Cuatrero x Encina/Idilio), newly returned from Spain last fall, is also new to this level. He had just begun to compete in the Small Tour with Dani in Spain, after a successful Young Horse career in that country. At 7 ½ years old, Vaquero was the youngest horse in the Young Rider classes this winter, often by 7 or 8 years. Yet the pair made a name for themselves this first season together—maintaining an international average of 66-67% and swapping places several times with Ayden and Sjaepoor. Kerrigan and Vaquerowere regulars in the ribbon ceremonies and hope to continue to grow together into an even stronger team for summer competitions. Kerrigan also received the ride on HGF Brio—a 10 year old black Spanish stallion who is new to HGF. Brio has been introduced to all the Grand Prix exercises by his first owner in Spain, and now Kerrigan is taking her time figuring out this dynamic and talented prospect for an eventual go at U25 in the next year or so. This winter they competed twice at national Prix St. George scoring close to 67%. The next competition in Europe for Grandioso and Bolero will be the CDI in Madrid in May, which kicks off the summer schedule that we hope will lead to the European Championships in August. Both horses have been named to the A Team long list for Spain, and we will keep you posted on their results. Kerrigan plans to stay in Florida to train with her two horses. She hopes to qualify for the North Americans in July and the Festival of Champions in August.

Grandioso and Dockx Start the Outdoor Season with Strong Showing at Treffen CDI4*

Following a long winter out of the show ring, Jose Daniel Martin Dockx and Grandioso came back strong at their first outdoor show of 2014 in Treffen, Austria at the Glock-sponsored CDI4*. The amazingly luxurious Glock Show was a high point of the season last year, with Daniel and Grandioso winning both the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Kur in the 3*. This year they opted for the 4* competition, and were again successful against higher-ranked riders and horses. In the Grand Prix, the pair finished 3rd with a score of 71.9%, behind Edward Gal on Glock’s Undercover and Hans Peter Minderhoud on Glock’s Johnson.
