The influence of the Bohórquez line through Utrerano VII; himself a son of Lebrijano III; highlights the exceptional quality behind this horse. On the maternal side, through Corona HGF, we find influential bloodlines such as Remache and Adelante, both key contributors to the P.R.E. breed. Ridden by Antonio Crespin, Coronado HGF stands out for his willingness to work, noble character, and, above all, his strength; traits that are highly representative of the Bohórquez line from Utrerano VII.

Two Hampton Green Horses in the Top Four in 2018 Brentina's Cup

Following a season in Europe, HGF U25 rider Kerrigan Gluch put two HGF PREs in the top 4 places in the USEF Brentina Cup Finals at the 2018 Festival of Champions, Wayne IL. With Bolero, Kerrigan's mount in Europe, she finished 2nd in the Freestyle and Fourth overall, capping a successful first season together at the short Grand Prix. Normally exuberant Brio was gelded over the summer and is still returning to full fitness, but the pair had an outstanding weekend and finished with the Bronze Medal overall in these national U25 champioships. This year's Brentina Cup was one of the biggest and most competitive since the inception of the U25 finals. The U25 Grand Prix is a growing division in Europe which is feeding adult teams with top talent. Starting this year, the United States Equestrian Federation, in conjunction with Discover Dressage, is developing new programs and focus on this division, and this year's Brentina Cup finals is evidence of its development in the States.

Hampton Green Farm: What's Coming in 2015...

It’s the first day of a bright new year, and normally this is the time we publish our Year in Review report. But now that our website organizes news articles by year, it seems to make more sense to focus on our plans for 2015. 2014 was a great year for us, highlighted by our horses qualifying and competing at the most important championships on both sides of the Atlantic—the North Americans and the World Equestrian Games—and achieving super results and final classifications. But 2014 was also a year of building and planning for a new chapter at HGF, and when a shipment of horses arrived last fall in Wellington the new era started. For the past 4 years, our focus in the show ring has been mainly in Europe. And while Daniel has been campaigning Grandioso, he was also bringing up a number of younger horses, most notably Vaquero HGF—who is familiar to everyone who follows our farm. In October, Vaquero returned to the States, to be competed by Young Rider Kerrigan Gluch. Kerrigan spent 6 weeks training in Spain with Dani last summer to prepare to take over the ride on Vaquero (2007), who was the most successful PRE in Spain in the 5 and 6 year old Young Horse Divisions in that country. Kerrigan’s plan is to compete this coming year at Young Riders, and she will be riding Vaquero this coming weekend in the Robert Dover Horsemastership Week clinic in Wellington. Additionally, we brought back Conquero HGF and a new U25 prospect, HGF Brio—both of which are now in training with our young riders under the oversight of Lendon Gray and Maria Lithander. We hope to have lots of news about these pairs this winter during the Wellington season. We are especially excited to be bringing Grandioso and Bolero back to Wellington to compete at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival during the months of January and February. At this moment, the stallions are in transit and will settle into quarantine in the first few days of January. It has been a long-time dream of ours to compete a PRE in the international Grand Prix in the United States. Following Dani and Grandioso’s successes at three Nations’ Cups in Aachen, the London Olympics, the European Championships, and the World Equestrian Games, the last challenge is making the long trip back to the US for a Florida winter tour. The plan for now is to compete Grandioso in the CDI-W Jan.22-25, and in the 5* the first weekend of February, and for Bolero to do his first Grand Prix during the coming weeks. HGF’s commitment to the youth programs is year-long, starting with our annual “voluntary fundraiser” on January 6 benefitting Dressage4Kids and the Emerging Dressage Athlete Program. This year it’s a Rockin’ the 80s party, sure to horrify all of the young people when they see their parents and mentors in our full 80s glory! We are also proud to host the 2015 Winter Intensive Training program, led by Lendon Gray, which brings 14 riders to Wellington for a winter of education and high-level instruction by Gray and others. Again this year we will be donating 4 stalls to the winners of the Florida International Youth Dressage Championships, held in mid-March. And this coming summer, HGF will sponsor our fourth Lendon Youth Dressage Festival and EDAP clinic in June at the Michigan farm. Our breeding program continues, with 5 foals expected in the spring by sires Grandioso and Faralay II. In 2015 HGF will have a number of young horses in training that will be ready to be sold. These horses range in age from 4-6 and several may be seen this winter at the Wellington location. We know it’s bad luck in horses to plan too far in advance, but other possible destinations for our horses and riders are the USEF Championships at Lamplight in August, the North Americans in KY in July, CDIs in Spain and Germany and with good luck the European Championships in Aachen in August and Spanish Young Horse finals in September! We have a big year ahead and are ready for the challenge. 2015 is already here and we can’t wait to see what it brings. We appreciate the support of all of our friends, and wish you every success in your life and loves!

2013 in Review

It’s hard to believe that this is the 10th HGF Year in Review article that we’ve posted on our site. Those of you who are faithful readers of our annual reports, we hope we’ve kept your attention over the years, and that the story of our farm, its horses and people, will keep your interest for many more years to come. We thought it would be hard to outdo 2012, but 2013 surely had its highlights! Grandioso and Daniel Martin Dockx kicked off the year with a string of CDI wins that started with Sunshine Tour, went to Madrid, then on to a really big victory at the GP and GP Kur at the Glock Show in Treffen, Austria. At every show, the scores went higher, but the 79% in the Kur at Treffen put the pair on the map in Europe. Dani would later say, “In my career, there is now only ‘before Treffen’ and ‘after Treffen’. From there, Grandioso astonished the multi-national crowd at Aachen by finishing 8th in the GP Kur with over 78%, among only the most elite horses of America and Europe. Their performance at the European Championships was consistent with the trajectory of the year, scoring their personal best in both the Grand Prix and the Special and finishing 22nd overall. At the end of the outdoor season for 2013, Daniel and Grandioso were ranked 23rd in the world in the FEI rankings, and the pair returned to Malaga for a period of rest and to continue their work with trainer Jan Bemelmans. In the meantime, Daniel was preparing Michigan-born Vaquero HGF for the National Young Horse Championships. Throughout the year, Vaquero was ranked 6th overall in the RFHE (Spanish Federation) rankings for 6 year olds, and 1st in the Copa ANCCE (PRE Rankings). He maintained this position following the Championships in October, and has since been put on the developing list for Spain. A last minute decision to participate in the Breeders Cup at SICAB in December resulted in the pair taking 3rd and achieving something never done before in the history of SICAB—the first American-born, and possibly foreign-born, horse to medal at the highly competitive Spanish Breeders Finals in Sevilla. Daniel continues to work with several other HGF horses, including Bolero CXLVIII who has made considerable progress since returning to Spain in April this year. In their first national outing at PSG, they scored 70%, and have started to prepare for the Grand Prix, for which the horse shows special talent. On the homefront, HGF horses and riders have had their share of success. HGF-sponsored Rachel Chowanec, on Lendon Gray’s Embrujado XI, was again USEF Reserve National Champion, this time at the Young Rider division. Cuatrero IV and Kerrigan Gluch were invited to both NAJYRCs and the Festival of Champions, until an unfortunate injury sidelined their year. HGF-bred horses and their riders continue to make headlines: Cindy Ramirez Smith and Carina HGF received a Gold Medal from the United States Eventing Association; Nicholas Fyffe and Fiero HGF were added to the 2014 National Futures Squad for Australia; Decoroso HGF and Decente HGF were USDF All Breeds winners with their owners and riders; and all our owners had a great year learning and showing on their horses. This past summer, HGF in Michigan hosted over 15 charity events, impacting our community with support for various causes. Hampton Green Farm was named the 2013 “Agent of Change” by the Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce, for its work for local charities. Additionally, HGF hosted perhaps our favorite event of the year for the 3rd time—the Dressage4Kids Lendon Youth Dressage Festival Midwest. This year we had almost 50 riders, a very honest and meaningful dinner speech by Nicholas Fyffe and a fantastic lecture on training for soundness by Dr. Rob Van Wessum. The EDAP program (Emerging Dressage Athlete) and the various Dressage4Kids events are growing nationally and HGF is proud to offer this opportunity to our local youth riders. Many HGF horses found new homes this past year. One of our shining stars in the international Grand Prix circuit, HGF-bred Encanto XI, was sold to Wellington, Florida, shortly after taking second in the GPS at Sunshine Tour. Grandioso’s full brother, Grandioso VII (Adelante) was sold to a prominent breeder in Spain, and two very talented sons of Bolero were sold to an Adult Amateur and a young rider, respectively. Several foals have gone to professionals this year, as well. Nine foals were born at HGF in Michigan in 2013, coming at a time when we need to replenish our herds, especially with several of our older mares retiring. We had a strong crop of 2013 babies, from the performance bloodlines of Albero II and Remache, and we are excited to present them for sale when they are ready. And, not least, the Global Dressage Festival finally resolved all of its legal issues with the Village of Wellington in late 2013. In addition to restoring the property’s inherent rights to be used for equestrian commercial activities, the GDF show grounds is now able to be used year-round, as will the Van Kampen Arena, designated for non-profit use for 28 days per year. The GDF is a game-changer in American dressage, and now that the series has no less than 7 CDIs, including a Nations Cup (concurrent with the Florida Youth Dressage Championships), a 5 Star, and three CDIWs, the GDF will soon establish Wellington as the Winter Dressage Capital for the world. 2014 is now here and we have so much to look forward to! Dani and Grandioso start the road to Normandy, which we hope will lead to a position again on the Spanish team for the World Equestrian Games. The D4K Winter Intensive Training (WIT) program at HGF is kicking off with the Dover Horsemanship clinic this week and our students are gearing up for international level competition this winter. USPRE will host its annual celebration in Wellington on January 21-26. (For more information, see www.usprea.com.) The PRE horse continues to shine in the world, wherever it is given the opportunity. Young horses mature. Riders gain more skills. Magic sometimes happens. Stay tuned and we’ll see if we can do it again this year! All the best for 2014!

Training Blog by Andrea Landis

HGF is pleased to introduce Andrea Landis, our Working Student Instructor this past summer at HGF and new owner of Brioso HGF--3 year old bay gelding by Bolero CXLVIII out of Quintera. Andrea's life is very full: she is a mother of twin boys under 2, a part-time Dressage Instructor, and full-time Physicians Assistant from Ada, Michigan. She is a long-time student of Christine Traurig and has trained a number of her own young horses to FEI levels. During this summer with the working students, Andrea has become introduced to the PREs at Hampton Green and, like so many professionals who now own HGF horses, has found the breed to be anything but the stereotype that she imagined. Since so many of our clients are starting young horses, we thought Andrea's experiences and thoughts about training her own young PRE might be helpful. Andrea has agreed to put her training experiences down in the form of a blog which we will feature on our website. Her first entry is fresh off the printer and featured here. For more information about Andrea, you can find her on the HGForum on Facebook or call the office at HGF. It Was Love at First Sight Kim hired me last spring to instruct the HGF working students two days a week for six weeks. I was thrilled with the opportunity to be a part of such a reputable farm and to work with Lendon Gray, and the three lovely young ladies I was going to be teaching. I planned out my 6 weeks of teaching and was going to go on my merry way! Wrong… 8:00am first day on the job, there’s Brioso standing in his stall, my life was changed. A total string bean, it looked like both of his front legs came out of the same hole from his chest, they were that close together! All legs, with a big bony shoulder, long neck, well angled, yes, bony hips, and this tail that most would kill for. The first thing out of my mouth.… that doesn’t look like an “Andalusian”. Oops, maybe not the best thing to say at a PRE breeding farm. The image I had in my head and the stereotype of what most Americans think of when you talk about Iberian horses, was absolutely nothing like this stunning bright bay, leggy 3 year old standing in front of me. That day Jasmin Shaudt, wife of Martin Shaudt from Germany, and fellow PRE lover, was there with her mom to look at young horses. Jasmine competed two Hampton Green bred 5 years olds last year with amazing scores, and was looking to add a few more Spanish horses to their farm. Brioso was the first out to be shown. Kim asked me to lunge him a little for Jasmin, in a halter. Sure… an unbroken 3 year old who has just brought in from being out in the pasture all winter. I was floored to see him trot and canter around, with big reaching, balanced gaits, perfect as you please. I knew he had been lunged a bit the summer before, but this young guy was a total pro! I jokingly said to Kim, that I may come in the night to steal him!! But in reality Brioso stole my heart, and changed to course of my riding career. So over the next 6 weeks I managed to sell my current horse, and with the help of Kim, was able to work out an agreement to purchase Brioso. In the past few months we have gone from learning voice commands on the lunge line, to breaking under saddle, and now Brioso and I are cruising around the indoor arena and out in the open fields. His canter is so huge, it literally takes 6 strides to get down the long side. He is brave and so eager to learn. He is the horse that talks to me every time I walk down the barn isle, gallops up to me whinnying when I get him from the field. I hope to continue writing about our journey, and showing pictures and short video clips of our training along the way. My dream has always been to buy a young horse and train him up through the levels of dressage, and someday if all the stars align, compete at the Grand Prix level. I think I have found a four legged partner that seems to be up for the challenge! So with the help of Kim Boyer, Christine Traurig and Lendon Gray, hopefully you will see Brioso and I in the FEI ring… in oh maybe 4 or 5 years :) One of the most valuable training tips I can offer thus far is: Train voice commands on the lunge line. Start this as soon as you start lunging and repeat before every ride for the first few months the horse is under saddle. Simple noises and words that you repeat every time you ask for a change of gait (walk, trot, canter, clucks, kissing, whoa.) repeat the process until the horse gets it, with lots of praises when they respond. Not only is lunging valuable to help the horse learn overall obedience, a steady rhythm, and contact with the bit, but also how to balance in transitions without the weight of the rider. This will make your job as the trainer much easier during the first several rides. Some horses do not instinctively know that when you squeeze or kick with your legs it means to go. As was pointed out to me by Brioso the first time I rode him under saddle (while under the watchful eye of Lendon Gray…..!) I was squeezing and kicking (as nicely as I could because this was my new baby) but he had no idea what language I was speaking. I could barely go past the walk because he was so confused with all my efforts. After spending some more time on the lunge line training voice commands, he could make the correlation between the voice and me using my legs (along with a helpful person on the ground with a lunge whip). Now with the voice commands I can use minimal leg aids, and just a kiss he picks up the canter, cluck and he trots. He does the transitions easily and with confidence under saddle. No loss of balance of rushing into the canter! Over the next several months I hope to write about our training experiences. Christine Traurig is coming at the end of September to help me, so I am sure there will be lots of things to share! Read in PDF format

Nation's Cup at Global Dressage Festival

Mica Mabragana and Cuatrero IV were part of Team Latin America II at the first North American Nation's Cup (CDIO), held this past weekend as the final show of the 2012 Global Dressage Festival. Team Latin America II finished 5th of 8 teams, and Mica and Cuatrero did their first Freestyle together, also their first time under the lights in the International Arena. The pair performed a clean test in front of close to 800 spectators on a night that was characterized by team camaraderie and the excitement of the close competition. We are proud of this young combination for representing both HGF and Argentina with a beautiful, clean and expressive ride to the music of Ravel's Bolero. Mica's scores of 63.6 and 64.5 contributed to the Team's totals for Fifth Place, along with team members Jessica McTaggart of the Cayman Islands on Ray of Light, and Luis Reteguiz-Denizard of Puerto Rico on Nalando. This show marks the end of the 2012 Florida winter season for HGF, where Cuatrero returned to the show ring with a new rider, after four years of no competing. He and Mica showed consistent improvement throughout the season and handled the pressures of new situations extremely well. We expect that Cuatrero will continue to improve as the routine of competition becomes more familiar, and that Mica and Cuatrero continue to develop their partnership into a very competitive combination for the future. For the summer, however, Cuatrero will take a break and return to HGF Michigan, where he will stand to HGF mares.

Daniel Martin Dockx' Other Projects

We have just returned from Malaga, Spain, where we had a chance to photograph some of our up-and-coming FEI horses. In addition to Grandioso, Daniel has three HGF horses in training: Vaquero HGF (Cuatrero x Idilio; 2007)--nationally top-ranked PRE in Young Horse Division and Copa ANCCE Conquero HGF (Cosaco x Cantora: 2007)--not competed to date Bolero CXLVIII--(Utrerano x Urano II)--well-known breeding stallion for HGF and half-brother to Fuego de Cardenas, recently re-purchased by HGF and returned to our training program. Groom Mohamed Dana assists Daniel in his program.

April Plans:

April 10--Mica leaves Wellington for New York April 16-17 Gold Coast Grand Finale, and final USPRE High Point Challenge of FL Season April 22--Molly, Idilio and Bolero head to New York April 28-May 1 CDI Saumur Other Notes: Head Groom Molly Reynolds will accompany Mica to New York for the summer to care for Idilio while he continues to prepare for the Pan American Games with Mica, at Fritz and Claudine Kundrun's Bedford facilities. Molly will also be taking her Bolero, for continued training with Lendon and Mica. We will miss them all this summer at HGF. Rhianna is taking time off to spend the summer with her family in Alaska. We hope she enjoys her break and hope to see her again in Florida in the fall. Foaling season starts in May, just as the Florida team returns to Michigan. Sandy, Lora and the Michigan staff have weathered another winter in Fruitport and expect to send all herds back outside round the clock in another week or two. The Michigan winter has been good for the horses there, mares are strong and active, and the young horses are well-boned and hearty. Check back for more news about our summer plans--training, clinics, events, and sales. Good things are in the works for summer 2011...

Young Riders Shine for HGF at Wellington Classic Spring Challenge CDI

Young Riders Shine for HGF at Wellington Classic Spring Challenge CDI What may have been the busiest week of the season for HGF--with USPRE Annual Meeting and PRE-Show plus a major circuit international show and High Point Challenge--turned out to be carried away on the performances of HGF's young riders. Our entire team of riders ages 15 to 24 showed the Wellington Dressage community how to ride and show their PREs for top scores and big wins. Rachel Chowanec, 16, continues to dominate the JR CDI classes with Lendon Gray's Embrujado XI. A 2nd Place in the Team test on Friday was followed by two First Places in the Individual and Freestyle tests on Saturday and Sunday with scores ranging from 65 to 68 from the top international judges. A last minute addition to Rachel's freestyle which added ten-meter circles at the counter-canter to half-pass showed the pair's flexibility and range of skill. Congratulations Rachel for being the CDI High Point Champion for USPRE as well! Head Groom Molly Reynolds did her first show on her fabulous new stallion Bolero CXLVIII. The brother to Fuego, Bolero lived up to his former record and tradition at HGF, scoring over 68% both days at Training and First levels with Molly, who placed in the top 3 in her classes and received the AA High Point Award for USPRE for the weekend. Bolero will be standing at stud this spring at HGF for Maureen and Cluties Sharp's Raven Star Ranch. Working student Bettina Gruber, 19, of Germany, scored 65.263 to take 2nd in the Third 1 with Camaron, and beat out the other JR/YRs for the USPRE High Point award. And our youngest rider at 15, Chelsea Reed, did her first Welllington Show with Lentisco, scoring 61 and 62 at First and Second Levels with her chestnut stallion. Chelsea, daughter of Tom and Megan Reed, also trains with Lendon Gray and is planning to continue Lenny's training with sites on JR classes next year. Finally, 24 year old Mica Mabragana and Idilio made their International debut at PSG and Inter 1 this weekend, receiving scores of 63.596 and 63.070, both qualifying marks for their bid for Pan Am Games for Argentina. As related in all the press for the weekend, the conditions for the outdoor classes were extremely difficult with driving rain, limited warm-up area and slippery rings. In spite of this, Mica put in very credible tests as she and Idilio continue to develop their relationship together. This is Idilio's first time in 5 years in the International classes and we are thrilled to see the continued improvement in him even at 16 years old. (Additionally, Idilio received the Peak Performance Award for best turned-out horse.) Congratulations to all our riders and their many successes this weekend!

Season of Change

Hampton Green Farm would like to thank Maria Lithander for over two years of training and competing for Hampton Green. When Maria came on in 2008, she took on the responsibility of starting three young stallions and also the job of reworking parts of Idilio's training to make him competitive again at the FEI levels. All of this Maria accomplished beautifully, bringing Adelante, Idolo Americano and Bolero up to third level with consistent scores above 70% in Wellington, a Region II Reserve Championship (Idolo), several USDF All Breeds awards, and scores up to 72% for Idilio in the Small Tour. Last March, she agreed to take on Olympian Courtney Dye's mount Grandioso III while Courtney recovered from a head injury in a fall, a task she approached with great care. Last month Courtney visited Grandioso for the first time and was thrilled with his condition, attitude and the freshness of his work, all thanks to Maria's careful schooling over the past six months. Now the young horses are moving on to the next phase in their training. Spanish rider Daniel Martin will take over the reins of Idolo Americano and Adelante beginning in November, and long-time Lendon Gray student Mica Mabragana will begin to work with the others once they are settled in Wellington for the winter. Our thanks to Maria for everything and we continue to consider Maria part of the HGF family for her outstanding work with PRE horses.

Traverse City Success Stories!

HGF took 5 stallions up to Traverse City with an agenda for each. Excellent showing conditions and top-quality judges who are Wellington regulars are only two reasons to attend this fantastic show. We are please to report the following success stories: Idilio II--Back in the FEI ring after almost 10 months, having sustained two slight back-to-back injuries. Maria LIthander was looking to retain his high scores from Wellington 2009 at the PSG with hopes to qualify for Regionals at the Small Tour. This they accomplished easily, with a high score of 70% on the second day and the FEI Reserve High Point Award (second to George Williams). Idolo Americano and Bolero CXLVIII--Last year's TC show was Idolo's first time in the ring. This year, he and his stable mate Bolero dominated the Second Level Four classes, taking first and second each of the three days and securing their Regional scores. Adelante rode in his first ever 3rd level tests, taking Second Place both days with scores up to 67%. We are especially pleased with this young horse, who has made such progress since his Training Level debut in 2009. He received scores of 7s from Judge William Solyntjes on his lead changes and showed his usual confidence in the ring. Decorosito HGF--Son of Molly Reynold's Decoroso and HGF's Quintera, this 4 year old amazed us all with his performance in his first ever dressage show. Scores in the mid to high sixties and placings of Fourth and Third in large classes. The beautiful liver chestnut was a superstar! Congratulations, Maria, Molly, and staff for a great week!

July News

Happy Fourth of July from all of us at HGF! This past month we've enjoyed recent visits from several of our friends and new owners, Suzanne O'Brien, Maureen Sharp, Isabelle Ferriera and family, Valerie Lazzaro--and we are looking forward to more friends coming by in the next few weeks. Our Lendon Gray clinic last month was extremely helpful. She will be back on the 16-17 July. Congratulations to the Pritchett family of Ann Arbor on their purchase of Isis HGF--a gorgeous, tall 2008 mare by Idilio out of Seductora. We are waiting for one last mare to foal.. and then our Mare Barn staff can get some sleep! We are proud to report that we have 4 colts so far this year--2 by Cosaco and 2 by Bolero. We are expecting a beatutiful bay filly anytime by Camaron, out of Quintera. Or maybe another surprise Chestnut...like her brother Sultan (Bolero x Sevillana). Traverse City!! We are packing now and will head up North on Wednesday for our favorite show--Dressage by the Bay at Traverse City. We are taking six horses, and will be competing in Second, Third and PSG, as well as the Breed classes on Sunday. We hope to see our Midwest and Michigan friends there! Its a terrific show, super horses and riders, staffed and run by the best in the business, on stunningly beautiful show grounds, with great vendors and food, perfect Michigan weather, the bay next door...it just doesn't get any better than this! Dressage by the Bay also will be hosting the Region 2 Championships in September. AUCTION UPDATE: We have been busy the past six weeks, photographing, videoing, and x-raying our young horses and are almost ready to make the final selection for the Top Ten Sale, to be held on August 21. We are very pleased with the list of young horses that is forming. There will be several fine representatives of each of our top breeding stallions, including twoGrandiosos, several Boleros and a number of Cosacos out of Idilio dams--offerings of both colts and fillies, bays and grays. Stay tuned for thenew HGF Auction sIte , which should be ready to go by the end of this week. It will feature photos, bloodlines and videos of the young horses, as well as information about the sires. The new site will be accessible via this page. As we get closer to the date of the sale, the site will be set up to take on-line live bids, as well as absentee bids. For those who choose to attend the sale, there will be two days for viewing and vetting the young stock, which will be presented by Master handler Tom Reed. Finally, we are happy to report that no less than 3 PREs were in the top 6 , out of 35, at the Pompadour CDI Grand Prix (France) this past weekend (also one Lusitano), which was won by Claudio Castilla Ruiz on 11 year old Jade de MV with a score of 68.213. The Spanish Team is coming to WEG very strong this year, with 3 seasoned horses scoring consistently in the 70s and a rising group of younger horses scoring close to that. For the future, let's fill the US CDIs with PRE horses!

Wellington Show Report

Maria Lithander has been quite busy with her young horses recently. She dominated the First Level at the Palm Beach Derby with all three of the younger horses--Bolero, Idolo Americano, and Adelante. Each of the horses showed that they were ready to move up, with all three horses scoring over 70 per cent. Now if we could just not have them all in the same class! We were especially proud of Idolo for his 3 scores over 72% at only his second dressage show--and of Bolero for winning the USPRE Open National Level High Point Award, and missing the High Point Award for the entire Palm Beach Derby by only .2 points! Palm Beach Dressage Derby Results First Level Test One Idolo 72.00 First Bolero 66.67 Second First Level Test Two (Judge Lilo Fore) Idolo 74.722 First Adelante 70.667 Second First Level Test Three Bolero 69.714 Second Adelante 64.00 Fourth First Level Test Four Bolero 75.5 First Idolo 75.2 Second We also want to congratulate Maria and Adelante for their win at Adelante's first ever 2nd level test, at the Wellington Classic Dressage Challenge II with a 66.3. At the FEI Level, we are following Daniel Martin's progress with HGF's Encanto XI in Vejer, Spain, at the 2010 Sunshine Tour. This is Dani and Encanto's first international competition and first time to compete at Inter I together, and for a 7 1/2 year old horse, Encanto has shown exceptional promise. His results so far in this highly competitive CDI, with one weekend of the Tour left to go, are: Week One PSG 68.5 4th out of 34 Inter I 64.8 10th out of 29 Week Two PSG 65.4 10th out of 38 Inter I 66.5 7th out of 32 For real time results and information about the Sunshine Tour, go tohttp://www.sunshinetour.net/index_sp.html . Courtney continues to make small signs of progress and we remain hopeful for her full recovery. For current updates, please seewww.courtneykingdressage.com .
